We receive request for quotes all the time asking for acoustical shells/band shells/music shells, whichever area you need these clarity enforcing shells for your performances. Knowing the dimension, especially the width of acoustical shells, will help determine how many you will need in the back of your stage setup. Another important note is that the shells can be curved inward into a V shape in order to fit more acoustical shells in the stage setup. A straight line across the back of the stage works as well.

To help answer the first question we need answered to provide you a quote, we have our acoustical shells dimensions below with recommendations for how many you might need based on your space.

 Band Shells

Seated Risers and Band Shells

  • Each shell is 6 ft wide.
  • The tower height ranges from 8′ 4″ to 13′ 4.5″.
  • The band shell panels are laminated with ABS plastic skin surfaces that are 7/8″ thick with a 3/4″ honeycomb core, making them lightweight and very rigid with a scratch resistant surface that cleans easily.
  • Measuring the width of the band risers all setup together is the most accurate way to know how many band shells you need.
  • Recommendation: If you have band risers like the picture above that fit around five chairs on the top level, we would suggest two band shells for each section of the riser. If you have 3 band risers total, purchase 6-7 band shells.

  • Our Fold and Roll Risers are the same width as the Acoustical Shells, so they fit perfectly purchased together.
  • Recommendation: If you have music risers that fit around twelve people on one riser, we would suggest one acoustical shell for each riser to create a straight line setup. If you have 4 risers, purchase 4 acoustical shells. If you'd like a U shape around your music risers like the picture above, purchase 3 shells for every 2 music risers.
